Dunant’s Dream: War, Switzerland and the History of the Red Cross

In 1859, Swiss businessman Henri Dunant began a crusade to provide better medical treatment for wounded soldiers, which led to the creation of the most important human rights organisation in history, currently maintaining 137 societies worldwide.
